Who are we?
Senior Surf is a Bay Area small business founded in 2004. Started by educators and technology pros, we fuse together patience and pedagogy with expertise and knowledge. Our clients come in all levels and study on most all topics.
We began our business nearly 20 years ago partnering with several Bay Area retirement communities, local universities and individual members of the Bay Area community. Since then, we have reached over 10,000 students. We have also established partnerships with UC Berkeley’s and San Francisco State University’s OLLI Programs, Institute on Aging, SF Village, The Village, several local retirement communities and more, offering high quality, affordable tech support and tech technology classes on many training topics.
Senior Surf is also a proud partner of San Francisco Computer Training, LearnIT AcademyX, UC Santa Cruz and many more fine organizations throughout the Bay Area.

Our History
Senior Surf was co-founded by Dave Casuto, Justin Silbaugh and Nils Moe in 2004. Dave assumed the role of Executive Director, Justin served as the Education Director, and Nils took on the role of Operations Director. The organization received 501c3 status in 2005 and operated as a non-profit for 7 years until shifting to a for-profit model.
In the early stages of building the organization, Dave, Justin and Nils shared responsibility for strategic planning, writing grant applications, developing marketing and communication materials, developing curriculum, creating lesson plans and teaching individual and group classes.
Justin left the United States for Mbale, Uganda in July of 2006 to serve as an organizational development consultant for an indigenous community development organization. Nils has since moved on to work for the City of Berkeley and start his own consulting firm focused on urban sustainability.
Senior Surf grew and thrived under Dave’s management and the organization continues to be the leader in providing high-quality, accessible technology instruction for senior citizens living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
